We start by receiving lumber that has been strictly graded in accordance with the NHLA (National Hardwood Lumber Association), and dried to 6 to 8 % moisture content.

Once the lumber has been tallied and inspected to meet grade, uniform double sided self centering surfacing takes place with the helical cutters on the Newman Whitney s-282 planer, to produce a uniform consistent thickness and to further facilitate the next phase of processing.

After surfacing is complete the lumber goes through the ripping process. Each board is carefully considered for its best rip yield.

With our Group Seven and Dysis System grouped with our glue line rip and moving blade technology by Mereen-Johnson Machine Company, optimal yield is achieved.

Once the best solution is reached the board then travels through the rip saw. The stock is now at a step that has the proper thickness, is straight and of proper width for a moulder blank.

Now that the board is straight and of proper width for moulding, it then travels down a sorting chain, and material that needs be pulled and sorted for any of many reason is done at this time.

Checking for defect and chopping to the proper specified length and still concerning our selves to maintain optimal yield is next. This is accomplished quite effectively down our two hundred foot chop and sort line by GreCon Dimter. Our 350 GreCon uses state of the art technology with split second decision and accuracy to produce the optimal work piece.

At this point of process much of our material is shipped as moulder blanks to other companies, who in turn benefit from our variety of rip and yield percentages and gives them a fixed and economical material cost to work competitively in the market place.

Now the lumber has been cut true to size and is ready to mould though our hydromat 23 Weing moulder.

Our Grinding and moulding area has prepared in advance for the next run to be profiled though the high speed moulder.

During the moulding process a fourth and final thorough inspection is performed.

Finally the mouldings are totaled, packaged and labeled to each customer's specifications and shipped to the various locations.

There you have it from beginning to shipping at MCM.

We look forward to producing for your company either a quality moulder blank or moulded finished product for your company soon.
